Goals Throughout NAPC History

With each new steering committee, a set of strategies and goals was established and published in NAPC Connections.


2002 - 2005

1. To inaugurate 50-year celebration

2. To broaden our theological base

3. To be sensitive to differing abilities/disabilities.

4. To develop our website.


1999 - 2002

1. Recruit racial/ethnic clergywomen

2. Recruit new members, establish local branches and a regional presence in presbyteries and synods.

3. Ensure our theological insights are contributed to the larger church.

4. Establish an advocacy committee for clergywomen within church structures.


1996 - 1999

1. Develop and strengthen regional and local networks with NAPC.

2. Emphasize professional development and skill building through yearly NAPC sponsored events on the regional and/or local level.

3. Promote NAPC as a professional association.

4. Devise and implement a financial strategy which ensures the long-term and ongoing support of the organization and its programming.

5. Address the marketing and the promotional needs of the organization.

6. Conduct regular short-term and long-term strategic planning.


1993 - 1996

1. To recruit racial/ethnic clergywomen for membership in NAPC.

2. To recruit new members, establish local branches and a regional presence in presbyteries and synods.

3. To maintain liaison and advocate for clergywomen with WEBC--women employed by the Church, Church Vocations Ministry Unit or their equivalents.

4. To ensure that our theological insights are contributed to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

5. To establish an advocacy committee to be directed by NAPC's National Steering Committee to work, as directed by the Triennium, as an advocate for clergywomen within church structures.


1990 - 1993

1. To encourage membership and participation of racial/ethnic clergywomen in NAPC.

2. To address issues of placement for clergywomen in the PC (U.S.A).

3. To establish NAPC branches to serve clergywomen in every presbytery.

4. To aim for at least 50% of all Presbyterian Clergywomen as NAPC members.

5. To work on the issue of pay equity within the church, in cooperation with WEBC.

6. To engage in theological dialogue.
